With all of the wine drinkers around the world, there are many hundreds of different wine openers to choose from. There are electric wine openers and manual ones. Wine openers come in many forms. Most of them involve a cork screw. There are two main types of cork screws, the Helix Screw and the Archimedian Screws. Most wine lovers prefer the Helix screw as it tends to have a better grip and the Archimedian Screw has a bad reputation for breaking apart and dropping tiny pieces of wood into the wine.
The Waiters Corkscrew is probably the most common of wine openers. It has a reputation of being able to open any bottle that a waiter may encounter. This corkscrew includes a knife edge, a lever, and a Helix screw all in one compact little body. A Screwpull Corkscrew looks like a clothespin. It’s a simple device that includes a Helix screw that digs into the cork when twisted clockwise.
The Winged Corkscrew has two handles that open like birds wings while in flight. This allows for easy twisting. Next the wings are pushed down which pulls the cork up. The Rabbit Corkscrew is known for opening bottles in under three seconds and got its name from its resemblance to bunny ears. These aren’t as portable as other corkscrews due to their larger size. They are popular wine openers though because the mechanics basically do all of the work for you. There is no twisting involved.
Table Top wine openers are typically heavy duty for uncorking industrial sized wine bottles. The table is used as the base which allows the wine opener to rest on a flat surface. They often are faster at opening wine bottles than the smaller wine openers as they tend to have more leverage. Also wine openers are basically a handle with two metal blades. You slide the blades on the sides of the cork and slowly pry it out. This is a more cumbersome way to uncork a bottle, but with some of the old vintage wines that have decayed corks, this is the best way to keep the cork out of your wine.
Wine openers are a good way to market a new business such as an eatery or a new winery. They can be customized with the business name and come in a multitude of colors and styles. For a little bit of money, they can be bought in bulk and given away during promotional events. This is a good way to get the word out about your new business as it can initiate word of mouth marketing for anybody who sees the wine openers.
Personalized wine openers make nice gifts for weddings and business events as they can be customized accordingly. It’s a sure fire way to impress the boss as you congratulate him on his promotion. Who knows, maybe he’ll remember you when it’s his turn to make promotion decisions. Wine openers can also be given as gifts to grooms men at your wedding. They would be an elegant and stylish way to say thank you.
